Surajkund Crafts Fair

Surajkund crafts fair offers to its visitors the exquisite and skilful paintings, textiles, wood stock, ivory work, pottery, terracotta, stonework, lac work and cane and grass work .The whole preparation of the fair is done, keeping a parti...cular state in mind. Every year a new state is chosen as the theme and the entire decoration is changed accordingly. Theme states for last few Surajkund Crafts fair were M.P.(2011), Rajasthan(2010), Madhya Pradesh (2009), West Bengal (2008), Andhra Pradesh (2007), Maharashtra (2006) and Chhattisgarh (2005). This year it was Assam. students met the talented artists, weavers, painters, sculptors and craftsmen from different regions of India. 


This fair was a strong platform for our students to learn skilled crafts and art work. At this annual week long fair students learned the typical rural setting and how to bring alive the age-old living crafts tradition. Also, Students shopped here for some of the world's most treasured wares. All the students gain experience and motivated for their project given to them.
